The Mosque Cathedral of Cordoba is considered the most important monument of the Western Muslim world and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984.

It is believed that the location of the mosque-cathedral in antiquity was dedicated to numerous deities. The building consists of the patio (Patio de los Naranjos), where the laminar or minaret is located, and the interior, with its impressive columns and red and white arches.
