Full description
Take a half-day tour of the charming village of St. Emilion and sample a selection of wines. The history of the village dates back to the Middle Ages and the entire jurisdiction is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its natural landscape.
You will travel in small groups and on your arrival you will take a tour of the village, which consists of fascinating Romanesque churches and ruins that stretch along the steep and narrow streets.
Already in the 2nd century, the Romans introduced the wine production in the village. In some wineries, such as the Chateau Bellevue, which belongs to the world-famous vineyard Angelus, memories of the Roman techniques of viticulture are to be seen.
The village was named after the monk Émilian, a traveling confessor who settled in a hermitage carved in the rock in the 8th century. Follow your guide for a tour of the village to discover all the main attractions.
Afterwards, enjoy a visit and a wine tasting in a classified growth castle of the Saint Emilion wine region. During the visit, you will learn everything you need to know about the winery and the techniques used to make this world famous wine. From here back to Bordeaux.
