Full description
Make an exciting trip to the best snorkeling spots in the Whitsunday Islands in one day. This multi-award winning tour visits the world famous Whitehaven Beach, Hill Inlet Lookout and offers 2 snorkeling opportunities on the reefs of the Great Barrier Reef. Ride on one of the Whitsunday's fastest catamarans. Designed for stability and speed, the boat is ideal for passengers worried about seasickness.
You will be picked up from Base Backpackers Airlie Beach and taken by bus to Abell Point Marina. The boat departs at 8:30 am and travels to Tongue Bay to experience a unique experience at Whitehaven Beach, known for its white sands and crystal clear waters. It is also one of the most photographed beaches in the world. Afterwards, take a guided bushwalk to Hill Inlet Lookout at the northern end of the beach. The tides change and the white sand melts and creates an amazing effect. Enjoy fresh, homemade gluten-free brownies for the morning tea, followed by a buffet lunch with zucchini frittata and quiche lorraine, cold meats, cheese, salads and bread before heading to two snorkeling spots.
Your crew selects the best snorkeling spots based on weather and visibility. Visit either Peter Bay or Stonehaven and be enchanted by the colors, abundance of fish and coral formations on the Great Barrier Reef, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Peter Bay has an amazing coral and underwater world and is one of the quietest snorkelling spots in the Whitsundays. Stonehaven is the place where the locals go. Next, drive to Manta Ray Bay, which is located on the northern tip of Hook Island and offers a variety of underwater valleys, caves and many different fish. Enjoy exploring the crystal-clear waters while your guides point out everything there is to see. Afternoon tea with fresh fruit is available before heading back to Airlie Beach, arriving around 17:00.
