THE BUILDING OBOBY:
This recently restored Art Deco-style lobby with a historic landmark features ceiling paintings that pay homage to the mechanical age, the planet and the stars, all crafted as a 24ct gold and aluminum sheet assembly line. On the wall in the lobby of Fifth Avenue hangs one of the most famous paintings in New York, a representation of the building itself with rays of light emanating from the mast.
DREAM TRIP EXHIBITION:
This exhibition traces the design and construction of the world's most famous building and captures the history, engineering and construction of the building. It pays tribute to the pioneering work of the architects, builders and workers of the time. Here you will find original documents, including historical photographs, architectural sketches, design notes and daily accounting documents.
SUSTAINABILITY EXHIBITION:
In 2009, the Empire State Building began with an award-winning sustainability retrofit. Upon completion of the program, ESB will reduce total energy use by more than 38 percent over the next 15 years, energy costs by $ 4.4 million a year and CO2 emissions by 105,000 tons! The exhibition shows in a fun, understandable way the latest technologies and procedures used for the overhaul and delights visitors of all ages.
